A structural steel column supports a davit socket pedestal welded to a seven-eighths-inch thick cap plate. Half-inch by ten-inch stiffener plates are welded on each side of the column web, omitted where shear tabs occur. Framing beams connect to the column via shear tabs, with welds specified at one-half inch and three-eighths inch. The column and beam sizes are sized per plan.
