Four hollow structural section braces intersect at a central half-inch thick fifty ksi gusset plate with chamfered corners matching the brace inclination. A quarter-inch by two-inch by six-inch fifty ksi plate is welded to each side of each hollow structural section brace and centered on the gusset plate. Typical fillet welds join the assembly with all-around weld symbols indicated. A minimum one-inch clearance is maintained at the brace ends relative to the work point.
