A pipe or conduit passes through a concrete slab on grade supported by firm undisturbed soil or compacted fill. The slab transitions to a thickened concrete profile around the penetration, providing a minimum six-inch depth clearance below the conduit and a twelve-inch horizontal width. Typical slab reinforcing is installed per the structural plans above the sub-base and around the penetration.
