A two-and-one-half-inch deep joist bearing end connects to the top flange of a supporting steel beam using one-half-inch diameter erection bolts and a welded connection. The steel beam rests on a steel cap plate secured to the top of a steel column. Beam web stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web over the column support. A stabilizer plate is provided at the column connection with fillet welds.
