A symmetrical structural core and casing configuration features end connection lug plates and standard bolt holes. A steel core is encased within a tube or pipe, with grout fill and a proprietary interface material providing separation. Lug plates extend from the tapered ends of the steel core to form the structural connection, with a one-eighth-inch seal weld specified at the casing termination. Transverse cross sections through the tube and pipe show the internal core plate arrangement and grout placement. Bolt holes in the connection lugs are punched as standard holes.
