Two beams frame into opposite sides of a hollow structural section column per plan using a minimum five-sixteenths inch thick shear plate welded to the column with one-quarter inch fillet welds. Each beam web connects to the shear plate with two three-quarters inch diameter A307 through bolts installed in horizontal short-slotted holes. The connection maintains a one-half inch gap maximum between the beam end and the column face. Standard edge distances and spacings include one and one-half inch dimensions typically from the bolt centers to the plate edges.
