An HSS 6x4 elevator separator beam connects to a wide flange steel framing member using an L8x6x1/2 angle cut to fit with long legs vertical. The connection utilizes a 3/16 inch fillet weld for the angle to the support and a 1/4 inch fillet weld for the HSS to the angle. Minimum clearances of 2 inches and 3 inches are specified, with a 2-inch minimum dimension noted unless otherwise specified.
