An HSS6x4 separator beam connects to a concrete elevator pit wall via an L8x6x1/2 angle welded to a half-inch embed plate. The embed plate is anchored into the concrete wall with two three-quarter-inch diameter welded studs. The hollow structural section connects to the angle with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld, and the angle connects to the embed plate with a quarter-inch fillet weld with a three-inch minimum length.
