A six by twelve wood header with a Simpson hanger at each end frames the floor opening. Multiple wood joists as required are designed and detailed by the red-built joist manufacturer. The opening supports a maximum span of three feet zero inches. Framing bears on a floor beam, steel beam, or wall sized per plan.
