A wide-flange beam or channel connects to an HSS column using a shear tab welded to the column face and bolted to the supported member web. A cap plate is welded to the top of the HSS column with a one-quarter inch fillet weld. The number and size of bolts are sized per plan. Field welds are indicated with standard welding symbols.
