A wide-flange column connects to a grade 50 base plate anchored to a concrete footing sized per plan. A two-inch layer of nonshrink grout fills the space beneath the base plate. Embedded anchor rods extend down to a grade 50 anchor plate located near the bottom of the footing. Number four ties spaced at four inches on center enclose the anchorage zone within the two-foot-thick concrete footing.
