Typical steel deck support conditions at columns utilize L3x3x1/4 structural steel angles placed at maximum 4-inch clearances. The angles are omitted when the unsupported region dimension M is less than or equal to 6 inches, or when all vertical legs of the deck fall outside of the unsupported region. Fillet welds of 3/16-inch size secure the steel connections according to the indicated span directions.
