Horizontal reinforcing bars consist of number five bars at sixteen inches on center on each face, while vertical bars are placed per detail one on sheet SD.3. Additional vertical reinforcement includes two number five bars running full height near the stepped edge. A horizontal reinforcing bar of number four at twelve inches on center runs along the exterior return with a two-foot-six-inch lap splice typical.
