A steel beam frames into a hollow structural section column using a bolted shear tab connection detailed per plan. Full depth stiffeners are welded to each side of the steel beam with a one-quarter inch minimum fillet weld. A complete joint penetration weld secures the beam flange to the hollow structural section column. A perpendicular beam connection is detailed per plan at the bottom flange interface.
