The framing column is fabricated with a beveled flange as shown and features a lift plate provided by others on both sides. A complete joint penetration weld with a double-bevel groove weld is specified, requiring the plate on the bevel side of the web to be removed. Welding must only proceed after the column is fully braced and plumb.
