A CoreBrace buckling-restrained brace connects to a gusset plate welded to a steel column and base plate assembly at the concrete foundation. Stiffener plates are welded near side and far side to the steel column as required by the brace manufacturer. A concrete block-out surrounds the base plate within the surrounding concrete slab on grade. Anchor bolts and base plate sizing are detailed separately on the structural elevations. A designated work point establishes the geometric intersection for the brace and column axis.
