The ridge beam connects to the web of the steel bent beam via a three-eighths inch thick shear tab. The shear tab is bolted to the ridge beam web with two bolts. A one-quarter inch thick stiffener plate is welded to the opposite side of the steel bent web using a one-quarter inch fillet weld. The top of the shear tab is positioned two inches below the top flange of the steel bent beam. All member sizes for the ridge beam and steel bent are sized per plan.
