A framing beam connects to a supporting frame beam using a full-height shear tab connection sized per schedule with a minimum thickness matching the frame beam web or three-eighths of an inch. The connection accommodates W16 and deeper beams, maintaining the required k-dimension per the AISC manual. Bolt rows secure the supported beam web to the single plate welded to the supporting member flange.
