An open-web steel joist connects flush to a supporting steel beam web using a web plate supplied by the joist manufacturer. A three-eighths-inch stiffener plate is welded below the connection, with the location and connection coordinated directly with the joist supplier. Metal roof deck spans continuously across the top chords of the framing. Fillet welds secure the connection components as indicated by the weld symbols.
