A buckling-restrained brace connects to a steel beam and column assembly at a floor level. A slotted gusset plate receives the corebrace, with the gusset and its attachment designed by the manufacturer. Typical stiffener plates are provided near side and far side on the steel column and beam as required by the manufacturer. The floor assembly consists of concrete poured over a steel deck framing into the structural members. Complete penetration welds are used typically at the beam flanges.
