A 4x6 wood blocking is fitted between truss purlins atop a truss girder. Steel plates measuring 1/4 inch by 4 inches by 7 inches are placed on each side of the blocking, located 2 feet from each side of the truss purlins. Two 3/4-inch diameter through bolts secure the plates with a 4-inch gauge. Two rows of nailing are applied at the specified spacing, with four lines used when staggered and six lines where three lines of nailing are required. A 1/4-inch fillet weld with a 4-inch pitch connects the assembly.
