Steel floor beams connect to a hollow structural section column using a one-half-inch by five-inch by nine-inch plate welded to the column with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. Three one-inch diameter A325 bolts secure each beam web to the connecting plate. The floor slab is omitted from the view for clarity.
