An angle brace consisting of an L 3x3x1/8 or double 600S 125-54 at contractor option is spaced at 8 feet on center and secured with two 0.145-inch diameter by 1-inch minimum powder-actuated fasteners at each end. Alternatively, welds are permitted at the contractor option in lieu of powder-actuated fasteners. The brace connects to the deck valley in lieu of the joist top flange, accommodating a maximum slope of 1 to 2. Roof deck is provided per plan with floor deck similar, connecting to wide flange joists.
