A structural brace connects to a composite slab on metal deck using a quarter-inch thick steel plate anchored into the deck flutes. Four three-quarter-inch diameter expansion anchors with three and a quarter-inch embedment secure the plate, spaced twelve inches on center. A structural angle leg-vertical member is welded to the plate with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on both sides. A one-and-a-half-inch working point spacing is maintained between the anchors, while slab on metal deck orientation may vary.
