Wide-flange beams frame into a hollow structural section column using continuous shear plates on each side. A one-inch by twelve-inch plate features two three-quarter-inch diameter high-strength bolts at five-inch gauge on each side of the shear plate. A three-quarter by nine-inch stiffener plate reinforces the column web. Similar plate and bolt information applies symmetrically.
