A structural steel beam connects to a continuous HSS4x4x1/4 hollow structural section column using a full depth shear connection. Three-eighths inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the HSS column with quarter-inch fillet welds. An L6x4x3/8 long-leg-horizontal angle spans between the steel beams. A continuous HSS4x4x1/4 member is secured with RCKW3 blocking attached using two number twelve self-tapping screws to the lower HSS at five feet on center.
