This assembly features a buckling restrained brace gusset plate slotted through the web of a wide flange column. The gusset plate is reinforced with one-inch stiffener plates on each side at the top of the gusset. The gusset plate is welded to the column and base plate per the brace manufacturer's specifications. The wide flange column is anchored to the foundation with anchor bolts sized per sheet S6.0, resting on a one and one-half inch non-shrink grout pad beneath the base plate.
