A structural steel beam connects to an HSS8x8 hollow structural section column with the outside face of the beam aligned flush with the outside face of the column. The connection is secured with five-sixteenth-inch typical fillet welds at the top and bottom. A flare bevel weld is specified for the connection at the HSS8x8 column.
