An HSS elevator rail support connects through a splice joint utilizing three-eighths-inch bent plates and three-eighths-inch plates positioned on each side. The assembly is secured with one-quarter-inch field welds applied where required, including a field weld indicated with a flag symbol at the connection zone. Bent plates measuring three-eighths by two by two inches by zero feet six inches are provided on each side.
