A temporary slab blockout is formed at the edge of the concrete-filled metal deck for a curtain wall connection embed provided by the curtain wall supplier. The contractor provides a notch in the edge form and later fills the blockout with grout having a minimum compressive strength of 4,000 PSI. Reinforcement consists of two continuous number four bars placed below the blockout with required lap lengths, alongside number four bars spaced at eighteen inches minimum placed to avoid the blockout per typical deck edge conditions.
