A davit socket pedestal mounts onto a steel plate or beam flange above the top of roofing, with the socket design provided by others. Additional reinforcement consisting of four number five bars at six feet zero inches each way is placed in concrete filled decks, with standard hooks provided at the slab edge where applicable. The offset distance varies with a one foot eight inch vertical dimension to the socket base. Welds are specified with a three-eighths inch size typically.
