This structural detail provides a schedule and diagrams for welding reinforcing steel bars to steel plates or angles. The diagrams illustrate fillet welds securing reinforcing steel bars against a vertical steel plate and a steel angle. A companion table correlates bar sizes from number 3 through 10 with the corresponding dimension S in inches, ranging from 3/16 inch to 5/8 inch. The table also specifies the required length of weld in inches for each bar size, scaling from 2 inches up to 5 1/2 inches.
