A structural steel column is welded to a steel base plate secured by eight high-strength anchor bolts with a diameter of one inch. The base plate rests above a two-and-a-half-inch maximum layer of non-shrink grout placed over a reinforced concrete foundation. The embedded anchor bolts extend vertically down into the concrete footing with standard leveling nuts.
