A steel column connects to a steel base plate sized per schedule and anchored with seven-eighths inch diameter A325N bolts on each side. The base rests on a supporting steel beam fitted with a three-quarter inch stiffener plate centered under the column above, along with beam web stiffeners on each side attached with quarter-inch fillet welds. A brace framing member connects to the beam web assembly. A concrete over metal floor deck abuts the base plate, which features a plate matching the thickness of the adjacent beam and the width of the base plate. Complete joint penetration welds are specified at the structural connections.
