A cold-formed metal stud wall header connects to structural steel overhead using a deflection track with a deep leg inside track. The assembly is anchored to the steel substrate with two 0.157-inch diameter Hilti X-U powder-actuated fasteners spaced at 16 inches on center. A maximum clearance gap of 3/4 inch is maintained at the structural steel interface with a 1/2 inch vertical dimension allowance.
