A buckling-restrained brace connects to a ten-inch extra-strong pipe column using welded pipe casings and internal kerf plates. Three-quarter-inch Grade 50 kerf plates insert into the ends of the pipe braces and are secured with three-sixteenth-inch typical cap plates. The connection details include five-sixteenth-inch and one-quarter-inch fillet welds alongside complete joint penetration welds at the central work point.
