An eighteen-gauge stud brace connects to a roof metal deck sized per plan using a fourteen-gauge clip angle measuring four inches by four inches by sixteen inches long. Three number twelve sheet metal screws fasten the clip angle at the low corrugation of the metal deck for the perpendicular condition. For the parallel condition, a fourteen-gauge angle measuring three inches by four inches long connects with three number twelve sheet metal screws on each leg. The clip angle for the parallel condition spans a minimum of three corrugations.
