A beam per plan connects to a hollow structural section column specified per plan using an L6x4 angle acting as a shear tab. The top and bottom beam connections are detailed with quarter-inch fillet welds of three-inch minimum length typically. A clearance of one-half inch minimum to one-half inch maximum is maintained at the structural members. Additional threaded rod or fastening hardware ties the top and bottom connection elements across the hollow structural section member.
