An open web steel joist connects to a structural wall using a ledger and a 3x3x1/4-inch by 0-foot-6-inch angle. The angle is secured to the wall with two 1/2-inch diameter Hilti KB-TZ expansion anchors requiring a 3-1/2-inch embedment. Bridging is provided by the joist manufacturer with a typical one-inch clearance.
