Structural framing requirements for small and medium openings in composite steel deck assemblies using concrete fill. Openings up to two feet wide require two number four reinforcing bars extended two feet past the opening on all four sides. Openings greater than two feet and up to four feet maximum require two number five reinforcing bars extended three feet past the opening. Section A-A contains a sixteen-gauge closure plate or form sleeve at the perimeter edge tied back with welded wire reinforcement or anchors. General notes specify placing rebar and opening blockouts prior to concrete deck pour or cutting openings in the deck after placement and curing.
