A construction joint in a concrete slab on metal deck runs perpendicular to the deck span. The joint is positioned within the middle third of the deck span between the beam centerline and the column centerline. A minimum distance of two feet is maintained from the face of the column for the second pour. The drawing notes indicate the transition between the first pour and second pour across the deck span.
