A buckling restrained brace connection frames into a wide flange beam with half-inch stiffener plates or full-depth connection plates on each side of the web. The connection utilizes L4x3x1/4 erection angles with 9/16 by 1-1/4 inch slots and optional two-bolt connections using half-inch diameter erection bolts. A strand plate is provided by the brace manufacturer, and all gusset plates are specified as ASTM A572 Grade 50 steel. A space for erection is maintained at approximately plus or minus 3 inches from the beam or concrete top flange.
