A sprinkler main pipe is suspended from an overhead structural steel beam using a braced hanger assembly secured with a retaining strap designed in accordance with NFPA 13 requirements. The strap wraps around the structural steel flange and connects into the hanger assembly to prevent lateral displacement or uplift of the pipe during seismic events. The assembly includes a riser clamp or strap around the sprinkler pipe, a threaded or rigid brace member, and a beam clamp attached to the bottom flange of the supporting member.
