Concrete slab opening featuring a keyed joint detail reinforced with continuous reinforcing bars and embedded inserts. Two number six top and bottom bars run each way in the slab, supplemented by number five bars spaced at nine inches each way top and bottom. Inserts are spaced to match dowel spacing with one number five continuous bar at inserts. Additional two number four bars and number six bars at two feet six inches spaced at twelve inches provide edge reinforcement at the slab opening.
