A buckling-restrained brace connects to a transfer beam and column assembly through a gusset plate and manufacturer-specific connection details. The steel column features a finished end for full bearing against the beam, with complete-joint-penetration and fillet welds on the web and flanges per seismic standard D1.8-DCW. Continuity plates on the near side and far side match the thickness and width of the column flange. Additional half-inch stiffener plates are provided on the near side and far side of the beam web, welded on three sides typically.
