An eight-inch concrete masonry unit wall connects to a structural column or wall with a one-half-inch gap at the end of the wall. The wall gap is filled with firestop or waterproofing material per the architectural drawings. Vertical reinforcement is placed per the CMU non-load bearing wall reinforcement schedule. Horizontal reinforcing hooks match the size and spacing of the horizontal reinforcement, and the CMU wall is fully supported at the base.
