A steel beam frames into a hollow structural section column with full-depth stiffener plates on each side welded with a minimum quarter-inch fillet. The beam web connects to a shear plate with a vertical row of four bolts. The top and bottom beam flanges attach to the column using complete joint penetration welds. A perpendicular beam connection is also provided per plan.
