A hollow structural section beam frames into a hollow structural section column using top and bottom flange plates sized to the greater of one-half inch minimum or the web plate thickness, along with a web plate per schedule. Angles measuring four by four by one-half inches span the column width at the top and bottom. Fillet welds of five-sixteenth and one-quarter inch sizes secure the plates on both sides and on three sides as indicated. A maximum one-half inch clearance is maintained between the beam end and the column face.
