Two segments of cold-formed steel track are joined end-to-end using a nested splice track of type S162 with thickness matching the main track. Each side of the splice is fastened with three number ten screws. The splice track extends a minimum of one foot past the joint. Top and bottom track splices must be staggered by a minimum of forty-eight inches.
