A structural steel beam supports a cross-laminated timber floor assembly detailed per plan with studs and top of steel elevation markers. Three-eighths-inch diameter by four-inch-long lag screws connect the timber assembly to the steel flange at five feet on center. Studs embedded within the cross-laminated timber panels tie the concrete or wood topping to the steel beam top flange.
